Description:   Status: NOT MAINTAINED Contact: Jesse Reyes, City of Tucson Development Services, 520-837-6963, Jesse.Reyes@tucsonaz.gov or Adam Smith, Planning and Development Services, 837-6951Intended Use: For map display (per request from DSD) Supplemental Information: March 23, 2010 - As defined by zoning code amendment (Ordinance No. 7858), Jesse Reyes clipped the boundaries from PAREGION and exported to shapefile. Shapefile was published to geodatabase by City of Tucson GIS Services. UPDATE JANUARY 2012 FROM ADAM SMITH: Prior to the adoption of revisions to the Parking Code last year, the Downtown Redevelopment District's primary function was to allow reduced parking requirements in the downtown area (there is also one provision in the Landscaping section also affected). The recent amendment to the Parking Code changed the name from "Downtown Redevelopment District" to the "Downtown Parking District" in the LUC. The Downtown Parking District uses the same boundaries as the Downtown Redevelopment District and still allows reduced parking requirements. At the behest of the Attorney's Office, the Downtown Redevelopment District is maintained in Article 6 (Definitions) of the LUC just in case there is a development agreement, resolution, or some other legal document out there that refers to the Downtown Redevelopment District.Other than the definition (which is simply a map showing the boundaries) in the LUC, there are no other regulation associated with the Downtown Redevelopment District in the LUC.
